Director
of Volunteer Services
Job
Description: The Director of Volunteer Services is
responsible for overseeing the activities of the volunteer team
to ensure quality, responsiveness and the integrity of our
operations and volunteer databases. T he director supports the
Fund-raising and Programs teams by providing volunteers as
needed. In addition, this position will provide, but is
not limited to:
-
Provide
and/or present quarterly executive reports, assess current
and future volunteer needs, performance of volunteers and
the performance of the Volunteer Team.

Represents
the volunteer team in Foundation meetings.
-
Recruit
volunteers.
-
Ensure
volunteer activities are in alignment with the overall
charter and goals of the Foundation.
-
Champion
process improvements within the volunteer team.
-
Documenting
experiences and findings in Lessons Learned
-
Contact
for assistance in all matters within the volunteer team and
within the volunteer community at-large.
-
Ensure
that awards, certificates and letters of appreciation are
being issued to volunteers on a timely basis.
-
Audit
the volunteer database to ensure integrity of data.
-
Ensure
the integrity and friendliness of the Foundation website
from a volunteer perspective.
Required
Skills:

Excellent
management, negotiation, conflict resolution, and delegation
skills.

An
ability to engage, encourage, and empower teams to
volunteer.

Ability
to prioritize and create focus for volunteer job postings so
as to best serve the needs of the Foundation.
Accountant
Job
Description: The Accountant is responsible for performing
the accounting activities of the volunteer team to ensure
quality, integrity and adherence to good accounting and tax
reporting practices of our operations. The Accountant
should expect to spend an average of five hours a month on Team
Flynndog activities. This position reports directly to the
Michael T. Flynn Foundation’s Executive Team and will work
closely with the foundation's Treasurer. The ideal
candidate will be:

Bondable
and experienced in all areas of accounting

Experienced
in 501c(3) nonprofits
-
Able
and willing to prepare tax filings and other legal financial
reporting requirements
-
Expected
to conduct an annual audit
-
A
go-to person for accounting and tax questions on behalf of
the Michael T. Flynn Foundation.
Required
Skills:
-
Thorough
knowledge of accounting and tax preparation practices
-
GL
reconciliation expertise
-
Non-profit
experience is required.
Grant
Writer
Job
Description: The Grant Writer is responsible for
performing the accounting activities of the volunteer team to
ensure quality, integrity and identifying potential grant
opportunities, developing winning applications and submitting
them in a timely manner. This position requires excellent
writing skills, a familiarity of the core requirements of
successful grant writing and the ability to work on multiple
deadlines simultaneously. As a member of the
Communications Team, the Grant Writer will be able to work in
collaboration with other team members to produce effective and
winning applications. The Grant Writer may be required to
attend the occasional Board of Directors’ meetings. The
Grant Writer reports to and works in collaboration with the
Communications Team to produce high-quality, winning grant
proposal submissions. The Grant Writer should expect to
spend an average of five hours a month on Team Flynndog
activities.
Required
Skills:
The
ideal candidate will have a history of writing grant
applications to secure operating funds. This individual
will have excellent writing skills, research skills, familiarity
with core elements of successful grant writing and be accustomed
to working on multiple grant writing deadlines. Experience
in health related field, particularly cancer charities, is
highly desired.
